We’re rarely taught to listen, even though listening matters more than speaking.
As humans — as managers, employees, teachers, students, parents, friends, and children — we tend to talk at least twice as much as we listen. And then, when we are listening, we’re not necessarily doing it well. We interrupt, we pick up our phones, we respond before the speaker is done talking… you name it.
But when we are taught to listen to understand — not just to hear — we’re able to build better relationships, feel empathy, and create an environment of growth. Whether by teaching adults at a conference or teaching students in a classroom, my talks, presentations, and keynotes are here to help you foster better, more transformational, and deeper listening.

I learned to listen differently at a young age — and that ability to listen differently has propelled me through my life and career. Over the last 25+ years, I’ve worked with individuals and organizations to listen differently and to unlock the power of emotional intelligence to drive business and personal results, solve complex problems, and build enduring relationships.
